This year, 2020, has been a tough year for everyone, first COVID-19, and another is the loss of the great stars of Indian Cinema or Television Industry. This year we recently have lost the Gujarati cinema’s Special Jodi “Mahesh-Naresh.

Earlier, Mahesh Kanodia passed away due to a prolonged illness. He was a BJP’s Member and was also able to sing in more than 32 voices of the singers. He was also capable enough to speak and sing in the female’s voice.

While working with the Gujarati Industry, Mahesh Kanodia has also gave the best performance and music in Garba, Lok-Sangeet, Movies Albums, Non-Movies Albums. and many more. He has worked in many Hindi movies too. His work for Hindi movies such as Meri Dosti Mera Pyar, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Chhota Aadmi, Azadi Ke Diwane, Rafoo Chakkar, Raja Aur Rana, Kaun, Lajwanti, Pyar Mohabbat, Maje Le Lo,  Mera Faisla, and many more.

In Hindi video film, he has given the music called “Neeli Aankhe.” He has given many award-winning films to Gujarati cinema.“Apoorva Kannasum” was his Kannada movie where he acted as a musician.

Naresh Kanodia was Infected by COVID-19. He was taking the treatment of it from UN Mehta Hospital. After the death of Mahesh Kanodia within 48 hours, we lost Naresh Kanodia too. Our PM Mr. Naredra Modi and many stars have tweeted for losing two gems of Gujarati cinema who have given their best in Gujarati cinema and show Gujarat’s great culture Lok-sangeet, Garba, and duo performance of the Mahesh-Naresh.

In 1970, Naresh Kanodia made his debut Veline Avya Phool. From that day, he didn’t stop and gave the best of his in more than 100 movies in his career. Later he joined Politics and joined BJP. He has also represented the Karjan assembly seat from 2002 to 2007.

His one of the best movies is Unchi Medina Uncha Mol, Raj Rajvan, Man Saibani Medie, Dhola Maru, Jog Sanjog, Kanku Ni Kimat, Laju Lakhan, Meru Malan, Maa Baap Ne Bhulsho Nahi, Rajveer and many more.

If we talk about the family, then Mahesh Kanodia and Naresh Kanodia were born in the “Kanoda” village, which is in Mehsana district near the Modhera. Their father, Mithabhai and mother Daliben, were weavers. As part of their job they made clothes like saris, towels, dhotis, etc. They are four brothers in the family named Mahesh Kanodia, Naresh Kanodia, Shankar Kanodia, and Dinesh Kanodia, with Three sisters named, Nathiben, Pani Ben, and Kankuben.

As you know, the family’s condition was not so good, they all were living together in a home with only one room. When they started working in the Gujarati cinema, they were having the surname “Bilimoria.” Later on, they realize that it came from the name of the village Bilimoria. So after that, they took the surname of Kanoda, which is based on Kanoda Village.

Sauna Hridayma Hammesh of Mahesh-Naresh is an autobiographical Gujarati book on duo which published in 2011. During the decade of 1980, Both brothers were the first Gujarati pair to travel overseas and perform as stage artists in Africa, America, and some other Asian countries

Legends who stayed together, Left together. It’s an end of an era. You both will always live in our hearts of every Gujaratis. They served our industry with many beautiful and meaning full works.  Deepest condolences to the family from us. May their soul rest in peace. Their dead is the End of the most golden Era!
